The Syngenta Photography Award is an invitation to create images that make people stop and think. The Open Competition invites all photographers aged 18 or over – whether amateur, professional, or student – to visually explore this year’s theme Scarcity–Waste through compelling images..
All entries to the Open Competition category are managed through our website.
The Syngenta Photography Award is now open for registraion. The closing date for entries is September 15, 2014.
You will need to submit:
• Up to 3 individual images related to the theme Scarcity-Waste
• Information about each photograph.
Note that individual photographs must be your own work, and cannot be older than 10 years. You retain copyright to all your photographs, but agree to allow us to feature them in any material connected with the Syngenta Photography Award – including related exhibitions and conferences.
All photographs and other information must be uploaded via the Syngenta Photography Award website. We cannot accept or return submissions sent by email or on paper. All information submitted will remain confidential.
You can upload color or black and white images with the following properties:
• Jpeg format
• At least 300 dpi
• Minimum size of 1200 x 2500 pixels
• Maximum file size 5 MB
You will be able to change your entry before clicking 'submit'. Once you have submitted your entry, it is final and cannot be changed. You will receive a confirmation email after your entry has been submitted successfully.
The judging process
Entrant details will remain anonymous to the jury, and no distinction will be made between professional and amateur photographers. The images themselves must be clear of any copyright information so that the photographer’s identity is not revealed.
The three winners will be announced at the Syngenta Photography Award ceremony in March 2015.
The following prizes will be awarded:
• 1st prize: US$5,000
• 2nd prize: US$3,000
• 3rd prize: US$2,000
